Thank you!

My Cousin Michelle & her Husband Prentiss
My Cousin Laura and her beau Kyle

I am so amazed by the many people so willing to help. My wonderful Aunt Chris, Uncle Mike, Cousins Laura and Michelle and her husband Prentiss took it upon themselves to hold a fundraiser this last weekend that raised the majority of what I need for my plane ticket. Thanks so much to friends and family that donated to the auction and came to the event. It was a great evening and I am so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life. On Sunday I met an artist and her husband, at a pumpkin patch in Goodrich that use's a lost art form called "pointism". All of her art is biblical and she told me that she would like to help raise funding for this trip. She and her husband donate the proceeds of her artwork to help fulfill Gods will. She is speaking at a church this coming weekend about mission trips and has offered to speak at my church as well. She has an amazing testimony that she is eager to share. God is working in amazing ways all around us, we just need to open our eyes and hearts to see.

Excited in Gods Love,
Teresa

One half of "The Swaziland Team 08"

Today, after church, I met 3 ladies that are part of our work-team. We had a little time to get acquainted with each other, set a meeting schedule and turn in our funds for the airline tickets. We have decided to email each other to keep in touch before the next meeting. We were able to get a picture and are hoping to get one with the rest of the team next meeting.
From left to right: Me, Kathryn, Lisa, Pastor Dale Woods, and Krista. I'm really looking forward to getting to know these wonderful people that God has brought together to help make life better for these orphaned children of Swaziland. God Bless them!

How it began!

< Ashley*Derek*Me>
I met Derek at Channel 25 News when I would attend with adoptable pets through the Humane Society. Derek is the meteorologist at Channel 25. I had been going there every other week for quite some time. One morning Derek asked me to stay and watch his piece on Swaziland. The news station had been covering his trip leading up to and in Swaziland. At this point he hadn't gone yet but was preparing for this mission along with several others from New Covenant Free Methodist Church. I was so touched by what he was apart of and longed to get right with God again. I often wonder if he realizes how God worked through him to bring me back. Derek invited me to his church and with that I found a place that fit. A place that will provide community in my life so that I may allow God to mold me to carry out the purpose he has for me. I feel truly blessed that I may be apart of this work team, that God had brought me to that station that morning, and to know such a wonderful young man so eager to help others through Gods love.

God is working in amazing ways!

I would like to thank all my friends and family that have supported me prayerfully and financially for this work trip to Swaziland. Together in God's love we have raised $1625.00. On Sunday I will be turning in about $2000.00 for my plane ticket. The remaining $1000.00 of the estimated $3000.00 for this trip will be needed for food, lodging, and ground transportation. I am excited to begin this mission to help those less fortunate. The next few months before my trip will be time for me to grow spiritually with my work-team. From what I understand the work-team that went in July will be a part of preparing us prior to this trip.

Excited in Gods Love,
Teresa
