Going Back

It's been a few months since I updated my blog so here I am preparing to go back to Swaziland.. and this time I'll be taking with me a few of my dearest friends. I'm really looking forward to seeing Futhi. It'll also be great to see Busicewe, & Cali and Charmaine. It's still more than a year out, but our first meeting will be this Sunday, which makes it more of a reality. I signed Rob up to go, only he don't know it yet. I guess we'll see if he reads my blog. Maybe he'll find out when I tell him to park in long term parking at the airport. j/k

God whispers in your soul...........

Swaziland Team 2008-left to right, Tammy Urbina, Teresa Vaughn, Krista Back, Tom Mulanix, Pastor Dale Woods, Linda Mulanix and Lisa Morel Wow, my team and I will be leaving for Swaziland in a little more than a week. I am so excited, excited to be blessed with a mission through the Great love of God. God has a plan for each and every one of us, sometimes we forget to let him lead us though, or perhaps we ignore his gentle tapping on our shoulder. A friend of mine has a very funny tag-line on his email, it goes like this......God whispers in your soul and speaks to your mind. Sometimes when you don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at you. It's your choice: Listen to the whisper, or wait for the brick. I love that saying, for it is so true, and bricks hurt! Our team is being prepared for this mission by watching movies, documentaries and reading about the horrifying state many people in Africa are in and the hardships they face on a daily basis. How it began!

Ashley*Derek*Me > I met Derek at Channel 25 News when I would attend with adoptable pets through the Humane Society. Derek is the meteorologist at Channel 25. I had been going there every other week for quite some time. One morning Derek asked me to stay and watch his piece on Swaziland. The news station had been covering his trip leading up to and in Swaziland. At this point he hadn't gone yet but was preparing for this mission along with several others from New Covenant Free Methodist Church. I was so touched by what he was apart of and longed to get right with God again. I often wonder if he realizes how God worked through him to bring me back. Derek invited me to his church and with that I found a place that fit. A place that will provide community in my life so that I may allow God to mold me to carry out the purpose he has for me.
